Well, the Democratic National Convention was held with great success, and the campaign for President is in full swing. I'm hitting the road in my new Obama '08 shirt (by Blythe's OCD Closet) to see if I can persuade people to vote for my candidate. I'm ready to do some flag-waving! O-ba-ma! O-ba-ma!

Skateboarding 101
Well, I tried my hand at skateboarding today. You might as well say I tried my hand, butt, knee, and elbow at it too. I have very little sense of balance and absolutely no clue as to how you steer the thing once it starts moving. If I stay on top of it, I consider it a mission accomplished. Anyway, practice makes perfect. My friend, Michelle, says practice makes the orthopedic surgeon richer, but I'm determined to do this. I have people to impress.

Taking "Baby" for a Stroll
Well, I never thought I was cut out to be a "Mommy." You know, one of those women in smart cardigans who drive a shapeless metal hulk to McDonald's and then dump the kid in the toy aisle at Target to break everything while they have a latte at the Starbucks kiosk? Anyway... I adopted a poor lost poodle and named him "Baby." He's sweet, but I'm afraid I've already spoiled him with carriage rides and Tofutti.
But forget about him. Look at me in my new outfit from Sugar Mag. Check out the fur cuffs and collar. Drool over my tweed slacks with matching hat. Pretty sharp, eh? Won't catch me in a frumpy cardigan.

Meerkat Manor?
I put on a spiffy new Sugar Mag outfit and took a stroll today to further acquaint myself with my new neighborhood. I sat down to rest and when I looked around, realized I had been surrounded by meerkats. Where did they come from? Where do they live? I never heard of meerkats living in Georgia. Did they escape from a zoo? Anyway, they stared at me until I finally got up and left. How rude!

Ask the Magic 8 Ball
Well, I think the autumn is making an appearance here in Georgia (which I hear is a good thing because the heat usually goes on forever). I have new fall clothes from Sugar Mag; they arrived today from Hong Kong. I have mixed feelings about giving up the summer dresses for tweeds; on the one hand, I'm excited to get new clothes (I mean, who isn't?), but on the other hand, I'm sad that the lazy days of lounging about are gone for this year. Oh, well. I have a serious side that I feel like indulging for a while, so I guess the change is a good thing.
I'm wearing one of my new dresses and hats in the picture here. I'm consulting the Magic 8 Ball for my friend, Michelle. She goes to group therapy every Friday morning. I keep telling her she could save a lot of money if she'd just get herself one of these Magic Balls. Then, if she had a question, she could just ask, shake, and presto! the answer you seek appears in the window. She's dubious, so I'm trying to show her how it works. "Ask again, later!" Why? Wake up, lazy ball! This isn't how it's supposed to work.

Back to School
Well, I'm back in school. Back to studying, taking tests, etc. I love learning new things, but I swear some of the homework is just given to irritate us. I haven't decided on a major yet, but I'm considering Journalism or Fashion Design. In this photo, I'm taking a break from studying to listen to a CD.

What I'm Hearting Now: LadyBird House
Check out all the cute things that LadyBird House has on etsy right now. I'm in love with this cute pink and denim set. It even has matching boots!

And wouldn't I be stylin' in these pink ladybird boots and matching purse?

This outfit is cute for a casual day when you're in a sweet and innocent sort of mood.
This may be my favorite of all: the Little Red Riding Hood dress and apron. I'm lovin' it!

Elf or Fairy?
I'm in a very elfish mood today. I got my new elf hat from Lamby Snow! I'm wearing it with a little fairy dress I found; I know, elves don't have wings, but I like the two together.

Second Attempt at a Hat
Okay, this is my second attempt at making my own clothes. It's a matching hat and scarf out of silky pink and white yarn. What do you think? I think I like it better than my first hat. After all, pink's my favorite color.
And yes, I'm in my night gown in the picture, but I couldn't wait to try it on.

Breakfast in Bed
This morning I was feeling lazy, so I decided to have breakfast in bed.

I have a new flowery nightie from Debra's Closet. Isn't it pretty? She also sent me a matching teddy bear whom I've decided to call "Boo-Boo."

Isn't Boo-Boo darling? He's my new snuggle buddy.

Like My Hair?
Yes, it's still me, Kennedy Pearl, even though today I'm a brunette. Did I dye my hair?, you ask, get extensions? Nope! I just got my new wig from Shopoholican, and I love it! Not only did they send me this great wig and a net to wear over my real hair, but they sent me this pink barrette in my hair free! Wasn't that nice?
I look smarter already, don't I? I just need a pair of glasses now....
The only problem with my new lustrous head of hair is that I'm not used to having all this hair, and so I'm not sure what to do with it. Guess this means a trip to the salon. Oh, well. A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.

Meeting the Neighbors
Today I introduced myself to the neighbors. Two girls (neither of whom wanted to be in the photos) live there. They have an interesting, if small, place that is decorated in some funky bright colors. But they were friendly enough... even asked me to stay for dinner. Wonder if they expect me to reciprocate now? Darn my appetite!

A Grave Mood
I think my new skully shirt has put me into a dark mood. I had to go visit the graveyard at dusk. Here are some pics of me leaning up against the graveyard's stone wall. Hmm... suddenly I'm looking forward to Halloween.

Because of this dark mood I'm in, I decided to start a new Flickr group called "Dark Blythe." All Blythes are welcome to post their pics there as long as there's something a little spooky, eerie, or mysterious about their photo. It's just begun and has 13 members at the moment (spooky, huh?). I'd love to see more Blythes join so we can enjoy one another's darker moments, so be sure to tell all your friends.

Visiting the Garden
Today I checked out the garden at my new place. Not bad, although there's a gnome that kept staring at me the whole time. Watch out, gnome; I'm not as delicate as I look.
The dress I'm wearing in this photo was given to me by a sweet Japanese girl. We're about the same size, so she thought it might fit me. And it does! It fits perfectly. I say we're about the same size, although her head is so small she kind of looks like a pinhead (but don't tell her I said that).
Like My Hat?
Good Boy, Sniffy!
Well, Sniffy finally succeeded in cheering me up last night. We played with me running through the house like a little kid, and then I taught Sniffy a few tricks. I'm amazed at how smart he is; he's already learned quite a few commands like "beg," "bark," "come," and "sit up." I haven't figured out how to teach him to stay or roll over yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. You're a good boy, Sniffy!
What I'm Hearting Now: Lamby Snow
Right now I'm seriously coveting half the things my friend, Lamby Snow, has for sale on etsy. Here are some pictures of the things I'm coveting the most.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to break down and get the elf hat. I just can't resist that one!

Meet Sniffy!
Well, I was getting lonely in my new place with just me and Veronica (and a cat that came with the apartment who I'm not so sure of yet). So, I adopted a puppy! Of course, I went to the local animal shelter (I would never buy a pet; it feeds a cruel industry). I found the perfect friend there. All he seems to do is smell things (so far, anyway), so I've decided to call him "Sniffy." Isn't he cute?
Oh, and as you can see, I did some shopping today. I bought a bed and a Strawberry Shortcake sleeping bag (made for me by Blythe Kingdom), that's doing double duty as a comforter. No more hard sofas for this gal!
My New Dress, Froggy Fanatic
I just had to show off my new dress, Froggy Fanatic, made for me by morganannie. I think it's very cute, and it fits like a glove. A beautiful, froggy glove!
As you can see, I'm in a pink-eyed mood today, but that's okay; at least they match my dress!

Resting After a Hard Day's Work
Whew! I'm pooped. I've been working all afternoon getting this place in order and I'm beat. And it's still not done; things are sitting everywhere. The whole place needs to be painted, wallpapered, etc. I need to go shopping and get a few necessaries (like art for the walls). Anyway, it's time for a break, so I'm having some pizza and taking a few down-time photos to share. It'll get accomplished eventually, right?
And I called a few dear friends back home. Just hearing their voices made me feel soooo much better.
By the way, did anyone lose a cat? He just kind of wandered in when the pizza arrived. Sure is friendly!
Welcome
My name's Kennedy Pearl, and I just arrived today from Hong Kong. I live in Hiram, Georgia, now which is about 25 minutes west of Atlanta. I'm excited to be here, but exhausted at the same time. What a trip!
My new place is pretty cool, but it definitely needs some work. It needs the "Kennedy Pearl" touch, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I'm too tired to blog much today, but I promise to rest for the rest of the day, so I'll be ready to explore my new home tomorrow.
I did get a chance to change into my favorite dress, a felt skully dress from Art Knacky. Isn't it to die for?
Me and my teddy bear Veronica are seated at left on the blue sofa in our new apartment. I like the sofa (although it's a little hard), but the kitchen is a mess and the place doesn't even have a bed in it! The realtor neglected to point that out in the listing; guess I'll be sleeping on this hard couch tonight.
