Meet Rhoda Blossom!

This is Rhoda Blossom, the newest girl in my neighborhood. She's a Fancy Pansy Blythe. For some reason, she likes to dress up as animals. And I'm not talking about for Halloween or costume parties; I mean everyday! She has a rabbit costume, a cat costume, and one costume that we're not agreed on as to what animal it represents. Anyway, Rhoda seems nice despite her odd taste in clothing.

We Love Megipupu!

We love our new dresses from Megipupu.
At least, the seven of us who were able to score one love them!! Four of us are SOL because Megipupu's on vacation. It may be a while until we get new dresses from her shop.

Four New Friends!!

I have four new friends to introduce here. They all showed up yesterday and they all are quite different from one another.

First of all, there's the Dainty Biscuit Blythe, Thora Juno. I've never met anybody like her before. To start with, she has PINK hair! And she's totally cool and sarcastic. Some of the other girls are kind of scared of her, but I think I'm going to get along with Thora just fine.

Then there's Olympia Star, a Miss Sally Rice Blythe. She's as odd as Thora, but I'm not so sure I like her as much. She has BLUE hair! She's also a little snooty and a little ditzy (bizarre combination). So I'm not so sure about this one.

Then we have Winifred Dean, aka Fred, a Fruit Punch Blythe, who's an absolute kook. I like her kookiness, though, and look forward to getting to know her better.

Last, but not least, is Tatum Meris, a Happy Harbor Blythe. Tatum's quiet; I think there's a lot going on beneath the surface for this girl. She seems very introspective and deep. I think I'll like her, but it may take a bit longer to get to know her than the others.

Dancing With Frogs

I've been spending time with Lani lately. Who would've thought a frog could be so much fun? We taught each other some dance moves, and then we shopped for Re-ment miniatures on eBay. We lost the bucket of fried chicken, but won a lot of other goodies.

Someone's Knockin' At the Door...

There was a knocking at the door today, and lo and behold, another redheaded girl stood in the doorway.

She said her name's Liberty Valance, and she's a V Smash Blythe, but that we could just call her Libby, and she's looking for a place to stay. Liberty Valance? Wasn't that the name of a movie bad guy? I had a bad feeling about this one, but Michelle said, "Let her come in, Kennedy. How bad can a cute little freckled girl be?" Hmm. Guess we'll find out.

Lark's Sister, Cassidy, Arrives

Lark's sister, Cassidy, showed up today. She's a Pow Wow Poncho Blythe and she brought gifts for Lark and seems really nice. I don't know where she's going to sleep, but everyone's encouraging her to stay. She looks a lot like Lark, but her personality is completely different. Not that Lark isn't nice; it's just that she's much more curious and adventurous than Cassidy seems to be. Oh well; maybe we can influence Cassidy to take a few risks (evil laugh).

The dress Cassidy's wearing and the one she's giving Lark are both made by Morgan Annie. Aren't they gorgeous? At least we know Cassidy has good taste and is generous (a great combination of traits!).

A Hippie Chick Arrives!

A hippie girl in a VW microbus pulled into the driveway today. She's a Bohemian Beats Blythe.  Her name's Dylan Ashberry and she likes things that are (in her words) "groovy." I think maybe that means things that have a funky smell, because that hippie bus could really use an airing-out. Whoa! Anyway, she said we could call her "Ash" for short, and despite the funky odor, I think she's pretty interesting.

Dainty Democrats

Guess what? Lark's an Obama-supporter!! That's fantastic because with Sarah Palin (aka "The Devil") as McCain's running-mate, it's even more important that Obama win. So Lark and I are determined to do whatever we can for the campaign. Here we are in our cute election outfits, cheering Obama on. My sweater was made by Blythe's OCD Closet, and Lark's dress was made by Glamourcraft. Aren't they great?

Lark Makes Suggestions for the Blog

Lark has some ideas for the blog that I hadn't thought of. She's very energetic and seems to constantly be coming up with good ideas and suggestions on how to do things better. Maybe we'll give one of her ideas a whirl.

Another New Girl in the Neighborhood!

Yep, there's another new girl in the neighborhood as of today. Her name's Aubrey Lark, and she seems to be more like me than any of the other girls. She's a Prima Dolly Aubrey and she's fun, funky, smart, cute. Did I mention that she's a lot like me?

Anyway, Lark's agreed to help me out from time to time with the blog; it'll be great having some help.

September Garden

These sunflowers are probably my favorite flower in the September garden. The flowers themselves are tiny, like me, but the plant is huuuuuge!

Just taking a break after weeding. Or before weeding. Or during the time that I told everyone I was weeding. Or all of the above. Your choice.

I think they call this stuff Monkey Grass, because going through is like fighting your way through the jungle. Wait; does that make me the monkey?

Sniffy got me into a prickly situation while we were out in the garden today. He hid from me in this bed of Chattahoochee phlox until I was itchy all over from looking for him. He can be a bad puppy.

Playing Puppets With Eliot

I played puppets with Eliot today. She's fun because she has a great imagination.

Me: I'm an alien and I'm gonna turn you to green goo, elephant!
Eliot: Raaaaaaahhhhhhrr!!!

See what I mean? Such imagination!

Riding in Cars with Girls

I went for a ride today with Pilar and Eliot in Pilar's blue convertible. It's a nice car, but she doesn't really know how to drive it. I don't even think she has a license. Eliot insisted on bringing her cat, Tennyson, along, and he cried the whole time. Come to think of it, so did Eliot. I was pretty relieved when it started raining and we had to turn back. Next time, I'm driving.

New Folks in the Neighborhood

There have been several new people (and I use that term loosely) moving into the neighborhood this week. Two girls moved in first: Aurora Pilar and Eliot Morgan. Pilar is a Roxy Baby Blythe and a rich girl who likes to pretend she's a high fashion model. Eliot's a Gentle River Blythe and is more of a nerd who likes poetry and tea parties. They both seem nice though. It's good to have some girlfriends to go shopping with.

And then, today, the three of us were on our way out shopping when we met a very friendly frog couple. They're a pair of Wanda Wonder Frogs and they just moved into the neighborhood from Hawaii. Can you believe that? Who would leave Hawaii for Georgia? Anyway, they're Lani and Pali and they seem really nice too.

Off-road Adventure

I took Sniffy and his friend, Gigi, on an off-road adventure in the Jeep. It was a fantastic trip: the sun on our skin, the wind in our hair. We should do this kind of thing more often.

Note: The weird-looking pink and orange thing in my hair is a hairpiece that I haven't learned to work yet. What do you do with these things?

Goodies from Magpie Mama

My goodies from Magpie Mama arrived today! I'm wearing the retro space outfit she made me; isn't it to die for? I also got a Campbell's soup can shirt a la Warhol, an "I'm not a plastic bag" tote bag (which is soooo cool), a heart-shaped tin full of hair accessories, and some really cute stickers with pink poodles and snooty cats on them. Thanks, Magpie Mama! This is the best mail call I think I've ever had.

Whoosh! To the moooooon!!

Okay, I'm ready to go shopping now. Who's got the money?

Saying Goodbye to the Summer

Today I formally said "Goodbye" to summer. Goodbye, summer. Goodbye, cosmos. It was very nice of you to visit us.

Maybe I'll miss summer in a few months, but at the moment, I'm looking forward to some cooler weather. And I won't miss the mosquitoes.

I Dreamed I Was Falling

I had one of those horrible falling dreams again. I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm no dream expert, but it seems to me this could mean I'm worried about something. Hmmm.... I heard some news today; two new girls are moving into the neighborhood soon. Maybe I'm worried that they won't like me. It would be really nice to have some friends in this new place.
